Our club draws its membership from a wide variety of people within the community and over a very large geographical area. This provides members with a very interesting mix of backgrounds and experiences. We have a spread of members from those comparatively new to public speaking to speakers with a lot of experience.

The Club has been the training ground for several candidates for Young Farmer of the Year. The Masterton Club likes to involve itself in the local community and has been involved with:

  • running public meetings about Council amalgamation
  • meet the local electorate candidates public meeting
  • judging the Viticulturist of the Year contest
  • judging the Wairarapa Secondary Schools Public Speaking Contest
  • meeting at Carter Court for the entertainment of the residents
